SPEAK UP
Public Speaking and Communication skills, including Assertiveness for adults.

STEP FORWARD and LEADING ALONGSIDE - Youth Leadership Development

Step Forward is for years 6 - 7 students. They attend sessions over 8 weeks in which they develop more effective speaking, self valuing skills and leadership precepts. They are helped to clarify their dreams, interests and talents. They are empowered, celebrated and encouraged on a journey to be free of limitations.

Leading Alongside is the program for Year 8s to 12.

To empower another, is to empower yourself.
To celebrate another, is to celebrate yourself.
And to free another, is to free yourself.

I say empower, celebrate, and free them all.

    - Mike Dooley on behalf of The Universe, May 2010

The programs use public speaking, coaching, teaching and training methodologies and are supported by Professor Brian Caldwell, former Dean of Education at Melbourne University and Managing Director, Educational Transformations Pty Ltd.

One of the very best things my father did during my school days was to encourage me to learn how to speak in public. I have had a range of leadership appointments and the confidence I gained in those earlier years has helped me in countless ways. I am grateful for my father’s support and the coaching I received from those who had the skills and the patience to guide me.

There are great benefits to be gained from learning to be a better speaker in a supportive environment. We seek to provide for the different ways that people learn and reduce the fear that people have of public speaking. For those who are very confident, then specialised coaching for greater ability is available.

Effective public speaking is a great way to improve personal power and connection with others. If you fear public speaking but have to do it as part of work, then coaching is a great way of reducing that fear.
Why not consider having one-on-one coaching to improve your public speaking knowledge and ability. How often do people have to deliver a speech at a special private function, only to let fear get in the way of getting some help, until the last minute? For example, many fathers of the bride, for one of the most important speeches of all, regret not getting some advice well ahead of the wedding.
